About Us

Golden Target Awards

The 34rd Annual PRIA Golden Target Australia's premiere PR and Communication campaign awards. The Awards recognise excellence, best practice and professionalism in public relations.

To help PRIA members enhance their opportunities to enter international industry competitions, the we revised the Awards' structure in 2007 to bring them closer in line with Award programmes in Asia, the US and the UK. The Awards now cover 16 categories of campaign, across the range of PR and Communications disciplines.

The Golden Target Award application is completed in two stages to make it easier for you to enter:

  1. A preliminary entry of 1,000 words, which is initially submitted to be judged to determine if your work should be short-listed for the Final judging, and
  2. The final judging which determines if your work is to receive either a State and/or National award.

Judging

The Awards program consists of two levels of judging – the State or Territory Awards for Excellence and the National Golden Target Awards. Receiving a State/Territory Award for Excellence, or the ultimate, a National Golden Target Award, demonstrates to your clients and colleagues that you have achieved success through best practice.

To maintain the high professional standard of the awards, the judging panel includes senior public relations professionals, communication professionals and academics.

State/Territory Awards for Excellence

All entries are considered for the Awards for Excellence competition where they are assessed against other entries in the same category from their own state or territory. In each category awards are given for the winner as well as those who are highly commended or commended. Each state or territory holds its own Awards for Excellence presentation function.

National Golden Target Awards

Golden Target AwardAll winning, highly commended and commended entries from each of the state and territory Awards for Excellence are entered in the National Golden Target Awards.

Eligibility

PRIA Members or Fellows working in corporate and government organisations, consultancies, professional associations, the not-for-profit sector and NGOs are eligible to enter.

Entries must focus on public relations and communication activities. Members are allowed to enter multiple entries but a fee applies to each entry.

All winners receive a certificate and recognition of their achievement at their state or territory awards presentation and are welcome to attend the annual Golden Target Awards function.
