PRIA NSW Launches New Peer Support Group

The NSW Secretariat of The Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA), the peak industry body for PR professionals, has launched a unique support program to assist practitioners who have been made redundant or who are finding it difficult to gain employment as a result of the global economic downturn.

Public Relations industry to focus on effective measurement

Mark Weiner, CEO of PRIME Research in North America, and author of “Unleashing the Power of PR: A Contrarian’s Guide to Marketing and Communication” will be in Australia later this month to present a series of workshops on PR measurement, evaluation and return on investment (ROI), courtesy of the Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA).

PR legend and pioneer of public relations communication theory, James E Grunig will kick off the program by reflecting on the last 60 years of public relations' progress and make some predictions about where it might be headed.

PRIA announces key speakers for National Conference - 24 June 2008

The Public Relations Institute of Australia has named some of the key speakers who will address its National Conference in Fremantle in October.  Britain’s Alastair Campbell and an international authority on global use of “The New Media,” Jennifer McClure from the United States, will present at the opening session on October 13. Campbell had a major influence on British political life as Communications Director and Strategist for former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair.
