The RCG establishes quality standards for the operations of a public relations consultancy. In much the same way as the PRIA establishes professional standards for individual practitioners, the RCG manages professional standards on consultancy operations.
Member Commitment
In brief, some of the key by-laws that RCG Members must operate under are: -
- The applicant for RCG membership holds the most senior operating position and runs the company on a day-to-day basis.
- The applicant for RCG membership must be a Member or Fellow of the PRIA.
- The applicant has to have been the principal or senior executive with management responsibility within the consultancy for a period of at least 12 months.
- The applicant must be a person who has achieved the Continuing Professional Education Standards set, from time to time, by the PRIA or the Committee.
- The applying consultancy must derive a minimum of sixty percent of its annual revenue from public relations work.
- The applicant must be able to satisfy the Registered Consultancies Group Admissions Committee that he/she has a strong commitment to ethics of business and business relationships.
