Apply for Professional Membership
Becoming a Professional Member of the PRIA is an important step forward in developing your career, and in demonstrating your committment to a vibrant and thriving industry.
The Process
Please read the information below and, if you're happy with it, complete the online form or download the attachment and fax your application together with your subscription payment. If you need any help at any time during the process, just call our National Membership team on 02 9331 3346.
The application form is pretty straightforward. If you are joining for the first time you will need to give the names of two existing Members you know who can confirm your membership. If you do not know a Member please leave these fields blank - we'll make sure you are contacted by someone locally who can discuss your membership eligibility with a view to providing you with a nomination.
Your application will then take a few weeks to process. We will ensure that we have all the details necessary for the local State Admissions Board to make a recommendation to the National Board regarding your membership application and grade. Where we need more information, we'll contact you.

Important Information - Please Read
By becoming a Member you agree to be governed by the Memorandum and Articles of Association and the Rules and By-Laws of the PRIA and of the State or Territory Institute to which you are affiliated.
Most importanly you must agree to read, understand and without reservation, abide by the Code of Ethics of the Public Relations Institute of Australia. In addition, you must also agree to promote the objects of the PRIA where-ever possible.
Should you wish to resign your membership, you must agree to do so in writing, and will need to pay all outstanding membership and other fees owed to the PRIA and/or your local State Chapter before your resignation will be accepted. You must also return any Certificate of Membership awarded was awarded to you.
The annual subscription Professional Membership of PRIA (APRIA, MPRIA, FPRIA) is $325.00 (inc. GST), calculated pro rata from the day you apply for membership to 30 June 2009. All subscriptions are fully tax deductible and there is no application processing or joining fee.
Member's Statement
Payment of your membership fees indicates that you agree to this statement:
I hereby apply to be admitted as a member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia in a Membership Grade to be determined by the Board of the PRIA. I declare that I am not aware of any reason why I should not be considered a fit and proper person to become a member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia.
If admitted as a member, I agree to be governed by the Memorandum and Articles of Association and the Rules and By-Laws of the PRIA and of the State or Territory Institute to which I may be affiliated. I agree to promote the objects of the PRIA and I confirm that I have read, understood and do agree without reservation to abide by the Code of Ethics of the Public Relations Institute of Australia.
Should I wish to resign my membership, I agree to signify my intention in writing, and shall pay all liabilities owed by me to the PRIA and/or my affiliated Institute before such resignation is accepted, and I further undertake to return any Certificate of Membership awarded to me.
