Western Australia Pilot Mentoring Program

PRIA WA and Young Guns launching new mentoring program

PRIA WA is calling for expressions of interest from members in the first few years of their career who are interested in being allocated a mentor in a new 12-month pilot program launching in 2007.

Spearheaded by PRIA WA board members Kate Fitch and Sally Crabb, the programme aims to provide both mentors and mentees with invaluable opportunities for professional development and industry networking.

Mentors are experienced public relations professionals who can help you develop professional skills and confidence, as well as offer insights into the public relations industry.

If you would like to take part in this innovative program, please send a brief CV to Sally Crabb, Young Guns President at priayoungguns@gmail.com.

Calling for mentors

Do you have more than ten years' experience in public relations? Would you be willing to share your knowledge with a young practitioner? Mentors can benefit through the opportunity to develop leadership skills, the satisfaction in sharing professional knowledge and advice, and the acknowledgement of your skill and professional standing. The obligation in terms of time is not large: we suggest you meet your mentee at least four times over a 12-month period.

To register your interest in mentoring, please send a brief CV and an outline of what assistance you could offer someone in the early stages of their PR career, to Kate Fitch, PRIA WA board member at K.Fitch@murdoch.edu.au.
