Pitch. Predict. Succeed. Lessons from the ultimate communicators May 2012

This half day conference is broken down into three working sessions designed to target both new practitioners and advance students looking to up-skill and develop their day-to-day industry knowledge. Each professional will take home priceless insights and expertise from our carefully chosen speakers. Each session will include three speakers, each presenting for a total of 30minutes including a Q&A session.

We have scheduled this conference from midday because we understand every new practitioner has a series of work commitments and does not have the luxury to take the entire day off for professional development. By hosting this conference at midday, our new practitioners have the chance to chase up any emails or respond to clients’ needs that morning; we will also break for lunch at 1:30pm whereby any extra work can be completed. Wi Fi and seating will be available for all guests who plan to catch up on work during break sessions throughout the day.

Session One Overview: The Perfect Pitch
Many new practitioners ‘hit the phones’ early in their career, without a clear understanding of the day-to-day needs and requirements of the journalist. This event gives new practitioners the opportunity to engage directly with journalists in an open forum about their needs, deadline pressures, news cycle needs and how they can work proactively to fulfil and support their day-to-day needs.
