Sydney: Personal PR Disasters; Undermining PR credibility - breakfast with Gerry McCusker

February 20, 2007

PR counsellors used to create news for their clients. Yet, in a blog-linked world, PRs are the subject of critical media attention anytime a PR job becomes a media disaster.

Following new research, Scots-Aussie PR analyst Gerry McCusker claims that 8 of the world’s top 10 PR brands have been linked to PR disasters. Often, individual practitioners are named and shamed via blogs, press, TV and websites.

So who’s to blame? Bloggers? Clients? Competitors? Disgruntled employees?
Journalists? Or McCusker himself? And how should PRs protect themselves?

PR author Gerry McCusker will undoubtedly catalyse debate with his provocative and insightful presentation.

Gerry McCusker is the author of ‘Public Relations Disasters; Talespin’ (Kogan Page, 2005/06), now available in paperback at most bookstores.
