ACT student challenge

PRIA (ACT) Student Awards are part of PRIA (ACT) annual Awards for Excellence program. They are designed to develop public relations students into professional practitioners.

PRIA (ACT) partnered with the University of Canberra and the Canberra Institute of Technology in 2004 to develop this competition to give students an opportunity to produce communication solutions for a real client.

Final year students from both universities form teams and are given a brief to assist a local organisation (a charity or not-for-profit). Each team is provided with a mentor to assist them throughout the project.

Student teams are required to work with their organisation to develop a strategy and implementation plan based on the client organisation’s specific communications need.
