If your experience in public relations is less than five years, or less than the equivalent of five years’ full-time in a communication role, you can enter as an Associate member, with the post-nominal APRIA. On completion of five years’ experience an APRIA will be upgraded to MPRIA.

PRIA offers a discounted rate for Associate Members who have retired from full-time employment, but who choose to continue to support and stay in touch with the industry.

Only individuals who are 60* years of age or over, and who work on a paid basis for 10 hours per week or less (or annual equivalent), may apply for Retired Member status.

*Exemption from the age criteria is at the discretion of PRIA based on individual circumstances e.g. retirement due to illness, early retirement or movement to another profession or professional position. Those seeking exemption from the age criteria should state a detailed case in writing.
