Ian Rumsby appointed chairman of Weber Shandwick Australia

Weber Shandwick today announced that Ian Rumsby has been appointed chairman of Weber Shandwick Australia, effective immediately. 

Rumsby takes on this new position as Emma-Jane Granleese, managing director of Weber Shandwick Australia, commences a maternity leave. Granleese has headed the firm’s Australia operations since 2006, and under her leadership Weber Shandwick Australia was named 2008 PR Agency of the Year by AdNews.

Rumsby will continue his existing role as executive vice president of strategic development for Asia Pacific reporting to Asia Pacific chairman, Tim Sutton.

“Ian’s senior perspective and first-person knowledge of the Australian market and our clients’ businesses will ensure that service to clients is uninterrupted during this time and that the strong momentum we have achieved in that market continues,” said Sutton.
