Response Ability for Public Relations

The aim of Response Ability for Public Relations is to enhance the knowledge and skills of public relations students so that they will be prepared to respond appropriately to communication issues relating to suicide and mental illness.

This project is guided by an expert working group to:

• provide a forum for discussion of key issues
• advise the project team on how best to engage universities and public relations educators
• advise the project team about the information needs of public relations practitioners
• public relations educators and public relations students and
• to help the project team identify potential barriers to the success of the project and strategies to address these

The expert working group includes representatives from PRIA, the Hunter Institute of Mental Health, public relations educators from a number of universities, public relations practitioners employed by mental health organisations.
