Jane has been at the forefront of media training since the early nineties, when she co-founded the Media Skills consultancy. In 2003 she helped establish the international Media Skills™ Network in the USA. Jane’s four–stage approach to crisis management has been adopted in a broad spectrum of industries in Australia, New Zealand and North America.
Jane Jordan-Meier examines communications between the media and the public during times of crisis, and identifies the role of social media in the present-day digital age. Jane will take us through the four stages of a crisis, explore the effect of the media, and discuss media ethics during a crisis scenario.
Jane’s presentation will discuss how to develop communication plans, suggest what information to provide and include case studies that demonstrate how to choose the appropriate media outlet and language and how to avoid potential bad press due to mismanaging a situation.
