McHappy Day is the major annual fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC); and is McDonald’s long term CSR initiative in Australia. Funds raised on McHappy Day are distributed towards accommodation and other programs to assist families with seriously ill children, including the building and expansion of Ronald McDonald Houses and Family Rooms in hospitals across Australia.
PPR has managed the McHappy Day project since its inception in 1991 with consistently strong results. In 2011, McHappy Day celebrated its 20th Anniversary and McDonald’s set an ambitious target to break the $3 million fundraising mark for the first time in the event’s history.
PPR worked with McDonald’s restaurants across Australia to develop communication tools to ensure McHappy Day fundraising and celebration activities were successful in every restaurant.
The campaign had its biggest ever record breaking year, raising more than $3.19 million for Ronald McDonald House Charities – surpassing the target to become the most successful fundraising result in the charity’s history.
