WA Mentoring Program

PRIA WA and Young Guns continue mentoring program

Following its successful launch in 2007, PRIA (WA) and Young Guns will continue the much talked about mentoring program in 2010.

PRIA WA is calling for expressions of interest from members in the first years (3-5) of their career who are interested in being allocated a mentor over a 12-month period.

Endorsed by the PRIA (WA) State Council, the program aims to provide both mentors and mentees with invaluable opportunities for professional development and industry networking.

A mentor is an experienced public relations professional who can help you develop professional skills and confidence, as well as identify opportunities for networking, career development and offer insights into the public relations industry.

If you would like to take part in this innovative program, please send a brief CV to Katharina Wolf K.Wolf@curtin.edu.au.

Calling for mentors

Do you have more than ten years' experience in public relations? Would you be willing to share your knowledge with a young practitioner? Mentors can benefit through the opportunity to develop leadership skills, the satisfaction in sharing professional knowledge and advice, and the acknowledgement of your skill and professional standing. The obligation in terms of time is not large: we suggest you meet your mentee at least four times over a 12-month period.

To register your interest in mentoring, please send a brief CV and an outline of what assistance you could offer someone in the early stages of their PR career, to Katharina Wolf k.wolf@curtin.edu.au.
