NSW Mentoring Program

Develop your career with the PRIA’s Mentoring Program

It's easy to become a Mentor or Mentee to your fellow PR practitioners. We are continually seeking expressions of interest from communication professionals who would like to be involved.

Whether you decide to be a mentor or mentee, this complimentary program available to PRIA members is a great development opportunity for you. We provide some guidelines to help partners but we recognise that each partnership is unique. You’ll have the opportunity to develop the program to suit your requirements and needs.

Mentees must have 2 years+ PR experience, and mentors can have from 5 years+ PR experience. To get involved, complete the below application form and forward it to the NSW Secretariat at development@pria.com.au

The Mentoring Steering Committee will match you to a suitable partner and then contact you to provide all the details.

Feedback from past and current Mentoring Program participants:

"[My mentor] offers very practical advice for specific issues I face at my workplace. It helps that he is also in the financial services industry and a wealth of experience behind him, so he could completely relate to my frustrations and challenges, while at the same time celebrating my achievements and 'wins'. You can't imagine how great it is to speak to someone outside of my workplace and who understands the demands of the communications industry -- its highs and lows and everything in-between…All in all, best thing I ever did in applying for the program."

"Seeing the mentee benefit from what I often just take for granted. Nice to pass on some tips."

"Having the opportunity to share your experiences with someone who is just starting out and is very keen to learn."

"Just having someone to confide in on issues and career development."

"Validating to myself my progression since first starting in this area."
