NSW: Account Management Bootcamp March 2012

Learning how to manage a client account is one of the core skills for public relations practitioners working in consultancy. If you are managing or about to manage client accounts, the Account Management Bootcamp is for you - it covers what they don't teach you at university.

In this course attendees will learn:

  • The client’s point of view - what it feels like to be a client
  • The account management cycle - what are the elements to keep and grow client business while building interpersonal trust
  • How to set up for success - what are the questions that you need to ask to when you start working on a new account?
  • Managing client expectations - from the beginning and if things change
  • Programming for results - a checklist for writing and running programs that get results
  • Creative brainstorm refresher - how to get better ideas
  • Time management - how to find the time in your day for the important but not urgent tasks
  • How to recognise your own communication style - work better with your team and client team
  • Client communication - writing better emails, better still pick up the phone
  • Conflict resolution - recognising when things are going wrong and a toolkit for resolving conflict.

Each participant will develop a personal action plan for the next 12 months to embed the skills learnt in the course and continue improving their account management skills.
