NSW: Media Interview Skills June 2012

A half day workshop to hone your skills for interviews. With training and preparation you will be a better interviewee. This is a hands-on workshop in which you will develop and practise interview techniques and learn to handle the difficult questions.

• Planning a media interview – a strategic approach
• Structuring media messages – how to tell short compelling stories
• The importance of media friendly language – quotable quotes
• Controlling an interview - handling tricky or unexpected questions
• Different styles for different media – print, electronic, news grabs & live talk shows

Facilitator: Sonia Zavesky, Director, Zavesky Consulting Pty Ltd, MPRIA/MIABC

Sonia is a highly experienced media and communication trainer, specialising in crisis communication. She is one of the developers of the Media Skills™ crisis training methodology. Sonia works with clients in the corporate, government, business and community sectors, and is known for her direct and fast paced approach in the training room. Her journalistic experience includes almost a decade with the ABC, working both in Australia and overseas. Sonia has also held the role of Direction of International Communication for a global not-for-profit organisation, based in Europe.
