This interactive workshop covers the ten key elements of a comprehensive public relations/communication plan through theory, case studies, exercises and discussion. Key aspects include:
• Considering the communication opportunity or challenge and analysing the issues involved
• Using research to help plan your campaign or activity
• Writing objectives that provide a clear direction and enable effective evaluation
• Identifying and analysing publics to ensure targeted communication
Preparing a communication strategy
• Selecting appropriate communication tactics (with a focus on media relations)
Preparing budgets and timelines
• Incorporating evaluation mechanisms to ensure accountability, including media content analysis.
Facilitator: Carol Moore, Director of Moore Public Relations
In developing this workshop, Carol has drawn on her 22 years’ experience in the communication industry in London and Sydney, including 12 years with leading public relations consultancies and ten years as principal of Moore Public Relations. Carol’s consulting experience spans a wide range of sectors, from healthcare and consumer goods to government, not-for-profit and business-to-business, enabling her to relate real-world case studies that add practical interest to her workshops.
She has won numerous state and national PRIA awards for her work, as well as the International Public Relations Association's Golden World Award. She holds a degree in Business-Communication, majoring in public relations, from the Queensland University of Technology and is a longstanding PRIA Member. When time permits, Carol runs corporate training sessions and lectures business students in public relations and professional writing.
