A NSW Young Guns Initiative

The NSW Young Guns are ready to set you up with your perfect mentor match!

Want to kickstart your career goals for 2021 and need some guidance?

Would you like to connect with a senior communications leader who can support you during your next steps in the industry, share their own professional experiences and offer valuable insights, tips and advice along the way?

The PRIA Summer Mentoring Program has been specifically designed for PR professionals in the early years of their career. Mentors will provide one-on-one support and guidance while their mentee considers how they can grow, improve, and take their next steps in the industry.

To kick off the program, we’re hosting an exclusive ‘Speed Mentoring’ Event to match some of our brightest talent (the mentors) with young PR professionals (the mentees) for an ongoing professional relationship. The event will include multiple rounds to meet and greet each mentor one-on-one, as well as broader group networking throughout the evening.

It’s all happening on the evening of Tuesday, 1 December 2020 via Zoom, so all applicants must be available on this date. Sound like an awesome opportunity? We think so too!

Register your interest now to join the program and meet your match at our ‘Speed Dating’ style event. We've got a fantastic line up of talented PR and communications professionals ready to meet you! All you need to do is register your details and tell us: Why and how would this event, and mentoring overall, be of value to you?

Places are limited and registrations will close at 5pm Thursday 26 November 2020. Successful mentees will be notified by email and receive additional details ahead of the event.

If places are filled, a waiting list will be available so you can still register your interest for future opportunities.

The NSW Young Guns is a dedicated PRIA subcommittee, focused on providing a vital link to industry for up-and-coming communications practitioners through tailored events and professional development opportunities. Join our community here.

*Please note that longer term mentoring opportunities and formal programs will be agreed on a case-by-case basis with your mentor. The PRIA Young Guns will be supporting this process with resources and ongoing support.
