Lisa Brown - Head of PR and Communications, Menulog ANZ 

Lisa is an experienced communications professional with more than 12 years’ experience spanning Marketing, PR, Corporate Communications, Public Affairs and Government Relations. Lisa currently heads up the PR and Communications team at Menulog Australia and New Zealand, prior to which she was agency-side, holding senior positions at Bite Communications, Res Publica and Porter Novelli.

Lisa has significant experience in media strategy and relations, issues and crisis planning and management in fast-paced and issues-rich environments, digital communication, creative development, sponsorships, partnerships and events. She holds a BA Communication (Public Communication) from University of Technology Sydney and a Diploma of Investor Relations from the Australasian Investor Relations Association.

Kirsten Bruce (BA, MA, FPRIA, MRCG) - Principal & Owner, VIVA! Communications

Based in Singapore, Darren Burns recently rejoined Golin to build out its Asia Pacific operations. Prior to this, Darren spent 14 years at Weber Shandwick, most recently as Vice Chair, where he led collaborative efforts to build the next generation of the agency to help clients solve their most pressing issues by putting analytics, creative and digital thinking at the heart of the business.

Prior to this, Darren was President of Weber Shandwick China, which emerged as one of the region’s most exciting and forward thinking integrated communication agencies. Chris Hall - CEO, Primary Communication

Chris has worked in public relations in one way or another for the past 20years. After graduating from UTS with a Bachelor of Business with a sub-major in Public Relations he worked for a Federal Member of Parliament where he learned about dealing with media in a high-pressure environment.

Amiria MacKinnon - Senior APAC PR and Brand Awareness Manager, HubSpot

Amiria currently works with HubSpot, a leading growth platform, where she looks after PR and brand awareness across the APAC region for HubSpot, working closely with teams in Australia and Singapore. 

Prior to her role with HubSpot, Amiria spent eight years in house with one of Australia’s leading aged care organisations, Whiddon. Lisa Maguire - Director Communications & Patient Relations, AbbVie

Lisa has over 20 years’ experience in Corporate Communications in a broad range of industry sectors including pharmaceuticals (6 years), FMCG, innovation, agriculture, emergency services and media (both television and radio).  Lisa’s is currently the Director of Communications at AbbVie, a global research-driven biopharmaceutical company. She has a degree in Agricultural Science and a Master’s Degree in Communications.

Currently chairman of six creative communications agencies, including three PR specialty firms, Savage is a former Asia Pacific chairman of Burson-Marsteller, co-founder of a top three financial relations PR firm, and the architect and first employee of what became and remains today the largest PR group in Australia, OPR.

Dena Vassallo - Founder and Managing Director, SOCIETY

Dena has 20 years of international marketing communications and commercial operational experience. She has worked with household brands such as Woolworths, Kraft Heinz, Unilever and Colgate-Palmolive, to government agencies and departments such as City of Melbourne, South Australian Tourism Commission, Department for Innovation and Skills, Department of Education, Department of Trade and Investment, as well as federal government growth centre METS Ignited, and Australia Post.

From building consumer love for brands, to protecting large enterprises, to various stakeholder campaigns for government departments, Dena is an experienced industry professional and has worked across large agency networks and global independents both in the United States and Australia.

Dena is the Founder and Managing Director of SOCIETY, awarded the Telstra Business Winner for Emerging and Energised in South Australia for 2019. SOCIETY has an enviable client roster, and a talented team with offices in Sydney and Adelaide. Ms Vassallo is also a 2020 Small Business finalist for the Telstra Business Women’s Awards.

Vuki Vujasinovic - Founder, Sling & Stone

Yatu Widders Hunt - Director, Cox Inall Ridgeway 
 
Yatu is a descendant of the Dunghutti and Anaiwan peoples of the Northern Tablelands of NSW. She is currently a Director at Indigenous social change agency, Cox Inall Ridgeway (CIR) which is part of the BWM Dentsu Group. 
 
At CIR, Yatu leads major communications, creative, research and community engagement projects which are aimed at driving real social outcomes with Indigenous Australians. She has worked on projects for the Referendum Council, NSW Police, Country Road Group, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Mental Health Commission.
 
Yatu has a background in Government communications and worked in a number of Federal Departments in Canberra, including to a Minister. She has also been a journalist and media consultant at National Indigenous Television, the National Rugby League and the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence.  
 
Yatu is also a key advocate for the Indigenous fashion sector and is the founder and curator of the high profile @ausindigenousfashion online communities. She regularly speaks on issues of Indigenous design and is a member of the NSW Government Architect’s ‘Connecting with Country- Expert Advisory Panel.’ 

Rebecca Wilson - Executive Vice President Australia & Singapore, WE Communications

With a passion for consulting, Rebecca brings more than two decades of experience in high level, complex stakeholder engagement working with executive management teams and Boards on investor relations, corporate & public affairs, and issues & crisis management across multiple sectors – healthcare, financial services, aged care, technology, consumer brands, and professional services.

Rebecca has a deep knowledge and experience of corporate governance having worked almost exclusively with ASX companies, governments, and multi-national corporations over the last two decades.   Her role as a trusted adviser has led to involvement in some of Australia’s most prominent issues and crisis management projects, and major transactions including M&A and Initial Public Offers.

Rebecca is an Executive Director of WE Australia, and current Executive Vice President Australia and Singapore for WE Communications. She was CEO of WE Buchan for 6 years.  She is also a Non-Executive Chairman for ASX-listed health informatics business, Alcidion, and Advisory Board member of Gillian Fox Leadership. She has as BA (Journalism) and Post Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance and Investment (FINSIA).

Vanessa Wolczak - Head of Marketing, Product & PR, Pacific, Avis Budget Group

With over 20 years’ experience in marketing and brand management across the retail, consumer goods, FMCG and automotive industries, Vanessa brings enthusiastic leadership, outstanding brand management and high-level strategic, analytical and innovative marketing competencies to her team and the Avis Budget Group brands.

Beginning her career as a Category Manager at Breville Australia, Vanessa progressed within a decade to  leadership roles at Bonds Women’s Underwear, Bras N Things and then Sheridan, where she was Global Head of Product in charge of product development. In 2014, Vanessa moved to Mosaic Brands, where she led brand marketing, PR, visual merchandising and eCommerce for fashion brand Rockmans. 

Vanessa joined Avis Budget Group in 2018. As Head of Marketing, Product & PR, Pacific, she oversees brand marketing for the Avis, Budget and Apex brands as well as the management of CRM, nine websites, four mobile applications, SEO, SEM, PR and product development. 

James Wright FPRIA - Group CEO, Red Havas & Global Chairman, Havas PR

James is Global CEO of Red Havas and the Global Chairman for Havas PR Collective, roles he took on in mid-2018. Originally James joined Havas in 2011 where he led their PR operations across APAC based in Sydney, in addition to being the COO for the Havas Australia Group.

James is a multi-award-winning consultant having advised some of the world’s biggest brands on the global stage. Before joining Havas he was Managing Director at international agency Grayling based in London where he led a number of their international accounts, including BT, HSBC, Sony, Jaguar and Land Rover.

James is also a crisis management expert and is currently leading the response to the Takata air bag for Toyota, which is the world’s biggest ever product recall and representing clients involved in the very high profile Banking Royal Commission in Australia, which is looking at financial institutions and their inappropriate lending and credit behaviour. The Royal Commission is the highest form of government investigation.

In 2020 he was highly commended at PRWeek’s Global Awards for Global PR Professional. Whilst based in Australia, James led Red Agency (before it became Red Havas) to become the most awarded PR team in APAC, which has included sixteen Agency of the Year accolades, ten Cannes Lions and two D&AD Black Pencils.
