The Public Relations Institute of Australia is staging a significant event on the Victorian-NSW border to help bring its services closer to the regions!
The first regional PRIA event in Wodonga will offer great insights and opportunity for professional development in practice areas of stakeholder engagement and creative strategy.
It will take place in Wodonga on Wednesday, 29 March 2017.
As well as two presentations from experienced practitioners to update your skills, the event will provide a networking opportunity with your local peers. Alex Messina, the Victorian PRIA President, will also attend to greet attendees.
Alistair will reflect on the relationship and roles of communication and engagement, discuss the current state of stakeholder engagement and reflect on why it has become an essential adjunct to effective communication.
Lex Deasly, Creative and Strategy Director at Hausmann Group
Lex will cover the guiding principles of nurturing a creative mindset, explore tactical processes for creative idea development and recommend best practice for sole operators or small teams keen to develop campaigns that speak to the hearts and minds of stakeholders.
Alistair King has over 20 years’ experience managing communication and stakeholder relations in the Victorian Government in departments including Premier’s, Industry, Resources, Justice and Health. A committed communicator, Alistair became an ardent convert to engagement principles and practices while seeking to mitigate community outrage against a government program.
With over 18 years of experience in creative marketing communication, Lex Deasley's career has seen him create both pioneering and award-winning work for some of the world's most loved brands. An early proponent of psychological and behavioural models in communication planning, Lex has always put the audience firmly at the centre of his campaigns, asking the question, 'how can we make their lives better?'
With in-house and agency experience on three continents at companies such as Red Bull, Ogilvy and Exposure and clients such as Nike, Levi's, P&G and CUB, he brings a wealth of diversity and experience.
This session will be a valuable development and networking opportunity for all PR, communication, media and engagement practitioners in the Border and North East Victoria region.
Understanding of theories of communication and engagement and the implications of these in practice. Guiding principles of creativity and creative idea development. Best practice campaign development.
