Webinar: The Global Perspective

The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management co-hosted the World PR Forum with PRIA in Melbourne last November. The Melbourne Mandate, endorsed by the attendees of the WPRF, gives the public relations industry the opportunity to lead in three crucial areas:

  • The definition of organizational character and values;
  • The building of a culture of listening and engagement — not just centred in the PR department, but dispersed across the organization; and
  • The instilling and demonstration of responsibility in all its dimensions — organizational, societal, personal and professional.

Daniel Tisch, Chair of the Global Alliance and co-author of the Melbourne Mandate, joins us to describe the ways in which PR can take the lead in 2013.

Presenter: Daniel Tisch, CEO, Argyle Communications and Chair, Global Alliance

Daniel Tisch is the president and co-owner of Argyle Communications, one of Canada’s premier independent public relations firms, winner of more than 60 major local, national and international PR industry awards in the last three years. He has counselled some of the world’s biggest consumer brands, financial service leaders, technology companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, not-for-profits and governments. Before becoming a public relations consultant, Daniel held senior communications roles in the Canadian government, including serving as Senior Policy Advisor and Acting Chief of Staff to Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. He has lectured on public relations at Queen’s University School of Business since 1996 and is a member of the Queen’s University Board of Trustees. In 2007, the Globe and Mail's Report on Business magazine named Daniel one of 16 ‘star alumni' from Canada's leading executive MBA programs.

Dan is also Chair of The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, which co-hosted the World PR Forum with PRIA in Melbourne last November. The GA has an ambitious work plan for 2013 – one that involves collaborative international research, new standards in measurement, evaluation and reporting, the strengthening of our global professional community, and – of course – using the Melbourne Mandate as a platform to advocate the role and value of PR.
